Carnival needs to rethink taking people out in a hurricane. You need to refit the Breeze, it is a mess! It was a really poor cruise and I have sailed on many other cruise lines. I am really disappointed in Carnival for how this cruise was handled. I wouldn’t recommend Carnival to anyone at this point, which makes me really sad! You are now being called by many people the Walmart of cruising! I just never realized how bad this statement had become until this trip.

The entire ship was dirty and unkept! The Cloub 9 robes were worn out and looked like a dog chewed them up. The lights in the spa flashed off and on during massages,. The captain took us out in the outer bands of hurricane Beryl. The first 2 days were scary, we kept life preservers next to our beds. When we reached Costa Maya we were told he couldn’t dock. Why did he not take us to Key West where it would have been safe. The Breeze has always been one of my favorite ships, but it is in bad shape and needs to be refitted, cleaned up and made safe, a lot of rust and poor maintenance. The telephone and tv changer didn’t work and were never replaced when ask to do so. The AC was stuck on cold. In general it was a really terrible trip and I am Platinum and over half way to diamond. I realize the trip was about the money for Carnival from all the people on board, but a better solution could have been made to take us some were safe! I am not sure I want to continue to invest in Carnival after this experience. There were many other problems on the ship. All the furniture in the spa is worn out, the jacuzzi is missing tile, the warmer loungers had only half of them working. There are just too many other issues to list! Carnival get your act together on fixing these ships, hiring good people, and never take a ship out in a hurricane again!
Entertainment

Poor, the quality of people being hire are not up to standards. During one of the shows it was shut done because a performer was hurt on stage.

Everything was broken, tv, phone, AC, balcony door, roommate got locked outside and couldn’t get in. It took a while to open because it was stuck!
Ship tip
Don’t go on this ship! Carnival needs to take it in to be refitted.
Sail date was July 1st in a 5 day cruise but Beryl didn't make landfall in the US until the 8th. How did it damage the dock in Galveston prior to landfall 🤔
I have no doubt it did do damage in Galveston. I'm in Houston & we got hit hard
I too was surprised to hear they were going on to Cozumel. I don't think there are too many options for a Five day out of Galveston. Assuming there was even dock space in Key West, the alternative would still have been a bumpy cruise to nowhere that would have generated more complaints.
If you were platinum, almost diamond, you would know the captain does not choose ports. Ports are selected and booked years in advance. Sometimes a port may be able to accept a ship last minute, but there is no guarantee of that. Had the weather been too severe for save passage, which it was not, the captain would have altered course and when necessary, they may cancel a port stop altogether. If you’re so sensitive to the movement of the ship, stay on a lower level in the future.
