It was fun, even on a packed and rusty ship, and can't wait to do it again!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Carnival and the Galveston Port is getting better with this considering the number of people they have to get on the ship. Haven't tried Verifly yet, but I think I will for my next cruise. Not sure how much time it would save bexar looking at the covid test and vaccine card is fairly quick.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Felt like the food quality has been better, or maybe it just seemed like they were running out of stuff, and just putting whatever on the buffet. On embarkation the line for guys burgers was over 30 min wait, and forget standing in line for a pizza at midnight (they don't have any late night options besides that)
Cucina Del Capitano
4 out of 5
Decided to celebrate mother's day here. The food was good, and for the price it was a decent value. Would have been a higher star but they the us off with the "family" style, so we spent 15 min trying to agree on dishes only to find out that we were individually ordering, and that they brought out single portions (not table as we expected.)
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We spent a lot of time listening to the "Habanero" music group, they were really good and kept the atrium lively.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Going to give it a 5 star, not that it was always that good, BUT you could definitely tell they were short staffed everywhere. Servers and bartenders were doing double duty in the buffet and dining rooms, and the cleaning crew was hustling.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Clean- yes without a doubt.
Maintained - sadly no. Was very disappointed that this so just came back from dry dock and still looked like a rust bucket in some places on the deck. They added a second no-smoking casino in the fourth floor which was probably where all the time and effort was spent.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Average cabin. Small TV and refrigerator never cooled.
Ship tip
Pack your patience, it's a smaller ship and you really feel all the other passengers when it is at nearly full capacity. Think they said there were 3,700 passengers on ours, that meant there were lines and you need to get to shows early.
So this one was a mess, but it was because of a passenger who was evading the law and they literally had to have staff go passenger by passenger with a printed photo of her to track her down. All this software, and photo recognition and you have your cleaning crew with a print out. Anyway, it's the same old cluster out the gangway mess, but customs at the port has it going on. If you use your passport, they just scan your face and you can go. Seriously, 10 seconds or less.
Rusty? Can you say where? We go on the Breeze in July. Also what was the Buffet like? We just on the Dream and the food was awful. Carnival always had amazing food especially the buffet but not anyMore.
