Review summary

The thing that makes me scratch my head is the COVID protocol in the piano bar. There are tables and bar stools marked closed but the bar stools are next to each other. On the last night, we were told that you needed to be seated if you were going to be in there. The crazy thing is that 40 feet down the hall, you can go in the night club and it is literally elbow to elbow. Anyway, I'm sure it will all change soon but it would be better if things made more sense. Overall, I love sailing with Carnival. We have 2 more booked this year.

Embarkation

Pretty much straight through the terminal and on the ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was average, as usual. Nothing super special but keeps you going!

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I drink and listen to the live entertainment. it was pretty good but have had better. The ship is about to dry dock in a couple of weeks so that could have something to do with it. There was one exceptional singer that will be moving to the Vista after her vacation. The CD was very good.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
For the most part the service was excellent. We did have one night in the doing room where service was very good. We moved to a different table for the rest of the cruise and the service was exceptional. The ladies at the Alchemy bar were EXCELLENT.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was okay. The bathroom door rod was broken and the frig didn't cool well. I am sure these are the things they will address while dry docked this month.

Ship tip

Be patient. This was the first sailing at 100% capacity and at times, there were longer lines. We have sailed several times since the restart, with limited capacity, so we had gotten used to short lines.☺

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

No excursion. Spent time downtown Cozumel and enjoyed it. The port area is one of the best.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
One of the best ports to go to.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Not bad, I just always hate the process regardless of how efficient it is.
