Review summary

Had such a great time on the Carnival Breeze!s It really was a great ship with lots to do. Having a Guy's Burger joint and his barbecue place, Pig and Anchor was just like an added bonus. The food at both of these places was so good and just seems a lot better and more special than going to the usual buffet for lunch. We were on a longer cruise with 3 days at sea, so we didn't have any problem getting to eat at both places. The food in the main dining room, including desserts, was also better than expected. There were 4 main stage shows, some better than others but very entertaining. It seems like most cruises will have featured singers and then dancers doing most of the hard work, but on this ship they all did everything. The live music was also a big deal on board, such a great variety. They had a guitar player, a country duo, a violin trio, a big band with singers and this really cool singer duo where the guy plays guitar AND plays the drums with his feet! I appreciated that they had 4 different comedians they brought on our cruise, we saw 3 out of the 4. 1 of them we really liked! They had the quest plus another adult game show, and one night on the mainstage they had aHasbro game show where guests could even participate it was really fun. Plus a few deck parties.. Compared to some other cruises I've been on I felt that there was something great to do every night instead of just the casino. My negatives were 1. The Welcome Show; just boring, dont waste your time. 2. The fact that they also had a Clue game show type thing going on was neat, but it was not promoted at all. It took place on the 1st night and we just didn't really understand what it was. We found out later that it was a game that was going to continue for the entire cruise, where you could play and get more clues. It's a shame that we ended up missing out on that. 3. Lip Sync Battle. Such a good idea for something different, but I read a review of the whole process online before going on the cruise and it's just too much. The 1st round to audition to be part of it took place on the pool back one day and didn't even include lip syncing. From what I read you just had to introduce yourself and do kind of a runway walk. Then if you were selected by the crowd you had to do more rehearsals and practicing throughout the whole cruise only to perform on the last night. I just wish they had come up with a better way to have more people be involved. I expected it to be more like a karaoke competition that could have happened every night and then the top people would go on to compete. Oh well. 4. The slots in the casino - I Don't play a whole lot, but over all I heard from a lot of people that they were hardly paying out. It was a decent size casino but there weren't really great, fun slots. Almost all penny slots or 2 cents, then dollar ones and even up to $5! Not much for the average person to enjoy for a little while.

I'm not sure why but on Shipmate its showing my number cabin as a verandah and it is not. It's an interior, but a great location. Just around the corner from elevators that go up to the buffet and back pool. Convenient, not noisy. And in My experience interiors on carnival are an OK size better than Royal.

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

Not my favorite beachy port that I've been to. I would much prefer to go to an actual private island that is run by carnival so that food and drink is included. We wanted to go to a popular spot, Jack's Shack, it was all the way on the end of the beach and just such a far walk. There didn't seem to be an actual pathway or a tram or anything that went down there so we had to walk on the beach which is tiring. Huge Margaritaville with a pool area closer to where the ship docks but as you can imagine that was just packed and not really my scene. Wanted more from this island, not worth getting off the ship for the whole day.
