we always do after Thanksgiving or first week of dec, great weather, no hurricane season and less kids.

I agree. we cruise 1st week in December. Less kids. It really depends on if you mind being around kids. I've done both and my kids are older now I prefer when they are in school. I avoid spring break. done that before. swore I would not do it again.
