Review summary

Beautiful ship we have always enjoyed Princess cruises but... the food on Caribbean Princess was very disappointing. If you don’t like seafood, fish, or Asian food you can have fruit and bread. The 2 times they had Prime Rib in the dining room was delicious. But 14 days on a ship that doesn’t have a good selection of food, we will not go on this ship again.

Saw some Main Dining Room menus posted recently, I did not see an unusual amount of sea food (1 or 2 entrees out of 5-8 choices), and very little that I would consider Asian.

Decided to pick another night, turned out to be Italian night. Spaghetti and meatballs, Sea scallops and shrimp, Grilled salmon steak, Beef pot roast, Stuffed chicken breast (a bit dry but tasty), Bean and vegetable soup.

Wonder why you had a limited menu? Looking at just one night randomly I see potato gnocchi, seafood stuffed trout, Cornish game hen, scallops (waiter brought as a side dish, just ok), fried chicken, and Caribbean style pork chop (very good). I ate very little sea food and the only Asian dishes I had was some stir fried noodles from Steamers for one lunch and wor won soup another day in the Horizon.

Were there a lot of Asians on board? We have seen occasions where there was a very large amount of the passengers who were Asian and the food seemed to be geared to them. There was still food for Americans. We have been on the Caribbean Princess 3 times and the food was excellent. Don't think that just because the food on one cruise was not to your liking that a future cruise would have the same food.
