Review summary

Caribbean Princess is the worst ship I have ever been on. And Princess Cruises is a terrible company. I am currently cruising the Caribbean. We are a family of four and the put us in a balcony stateroom for three. I asked for a bigger stateroom and got a no as an answer. You can imagine the result. Also, the ship has no real entertainment on board, just some lame activities. We have cruised several times on Royal Caribbean and MSC. Both are way better, especially in the way they handle things with guests. Next time I will return a Royal Caribbean ship.

I did some research. It appears that the only 3 person balcony rooms on the Caribbean Princess are on Dolphin deck. Those rooms are suites or mini-suites. I tried to book one for three people and it said “Not Available” but when I changed to four people, then I could select it. What RP has not said was what room and how did he book/pick that room. Titanfan2k1 - ditto your comments.

I was on that cruise. The only problem we had was we missed our port Princess Cays because of the large storm and went around it. But that gave us an extra 4+ hours at St. Thomas because we got there at 6 am instead of 10 am. This ship is great and had no problems what so ever. The staff is great and always there to help. We booked 9 months ahead and I chose my cabin based on what I needed. I think not all of the story is being told. They will not book 4 people in a 3 person room. They just can't do that, never heard of it, can't believe it to be true. Also if you read any reviews of a Princess ship. It is really for older people 18+. Yes they have places for kids, but if you wanted Disney or Chuck e cheese, you shouldn't have booked on Princess ship. They have entertainment (for adults) every where. So much on the 7 day cruise we had to plan it out way ahead of time to see what we wanted. Also the Voice of the Ocean show is FANTASTIC! Plus they refunded all 3 Port fees for missing our 1st port. (Princess Cays, St. Thomas and St. Marteen)

@cruisent of course we chose a cabin for four and we never had this issue with other companies. The room has a queen bed and a third bed hanging from the wall, making it a 3 pax stateroom. And they add a rollaway bed, leaving no free space. It’s even hard to reach the balcony. I see this as really bad quality service.

We just got back on Saturday. Awesome cruise! 3rd time on the Caribbean Princess.

They will only book you in a room that can hold 4. Rooms show capacity you can’t book over

We loved the Caribbean Princess! I agree with everyone else. First thing we do is check the cabin.

Why do people always blame everyone else when they have the time and opportunity to select a cabin...location ..style..capacity... Do you think the ship leaves port with extra rooms....most ships are full....extra sleeping on the deck

TOhcruisers    6 years ago

When you book a cabin it will show you how many people can sleep in the cabin. Didn’t you look at your cabin before you booked

Caribbean Princess is the nicest ship I've been on to date. Too bad there was some communicating problem on your end.

Indeed something is missing in the story. We had awesome time on Caribbean princess

We’re on the same ship and are having a great time! The ship is sold out so they have nowhere to put you. The broadway style show in the princess theater was amazing. The only disappointment we’ve had was missing Princess Cay and that was storm related. It’s all in what you make it. Hope your time gets better!

Descriptions of the rooms includes the number of people each room sleeps. Granted, you have to look at the ship map, but it is there. I find it amusing that another family is on the same ship and so far all of THEIR posts are the opposite of RP’s.

Something is missing, agree with TNTGreen

Are you sure their isn’t a pull out trundle bed under the sofa? A cruise line cannot place you in a stateroom not equipped to hold your party so either a fold out bed in the closet or trundle bed has to be there.

cruisent    6 years ago

Weren't you able to choose your stateroom when booking to ensure there was room for all?
