Review summary

Don't bother with The Key purchase. Overall, the cruise was relaxing, the atmosphere was good. Smoke fumes got progressively worse each day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
If you don't buy a drink package, good luck - bartenders weren't very happy to give out "free" water, and that's all you could find other than at the buffet lines. The OJ was frankly disgusting. Maybe if I'd paid $5 for fresh squeezed, it would have tasted better.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

The female singer from Ocala FL was really excellent. The evening productions were very good. Word of warning. If they say "some adult content" - believe it.

Children's Programs

no kids with me

Service and Staff

My room porter was excellent. Man of the men in white uniforms seemed bored, disinterested, unavailable, and rude. The waiters in my time dining were very good. Bartenders were generally rude. All the service staff in the Windjammer buffet area were excellent.

Cabin / Stateroom

My room had more storage than I anticipated. The bathroom was clean, well designed and larger than anticipated. I didn't realize my balcony had "obstructions" until after I booked, or I would have chosen a different room - although not sure that information was available to me at booking.

Ship tip

Don't miss the night time shows. If you don't go to port in Cozumel, the pool is practically empty and the Solarium is like a ghost town - which is nice, if you want a bit of peace and quiet (I did). Make sure you go to a forward deck around 6 PM when you depart Tampa to watch the ship going under the Skyway Bridge. Very cool.

Disembarkation

Very disappointing. Very unorganized and few staff on hand who knew what was going on. Few staff members seemed to know what benefits were purchased with this option. Particularly on disembarkation, the Key benefit was not at all as promised and disappointing. Breakfast for the Key on the last day was very poor - cold and tasteless

Most definitely the Key was not needed at all.... Embarkation and debarkation was super fast compared to other cruises we've taken. The fumes were very strong at times but casinos and smokers go together I guess.
