Review summary

The ship was nice. It was a large ship and did not seem too overcrowded. The elevators were delayed at times but nothing too drastic or inconvenient. The ship is an older model, but the maintainers do an excellent job keeping it clean and updated. Some of the trim and finishing was starting to show age though.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food quality was great, but the selection was a bit lacking in our opinion. We felt as though Carnival provided us with more (price included) dining options than Royal Caribbean on this ship.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was good quality, but poor variety. It was mainly music shows with only one night of comedy/magic. With that being said, the music was great and all the people involved were very talented.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Our experience with the childcare was not that great. On Royal Caribbeans website we read that the ship offered in-room babysitting services for children and infants under 3 years of age. When I talked to guest relations, I was told that babysitting was not offered for children under 18 months of age (our kid was 14 months old). They did not seem bothered that their website offered different information. At the end of the cruise, my wife and I met another couple with a 15 month old who informed us that they had been using babysitting all week. What gives?!?! Well my wife and I did not get to experience the ship and the nightlife because of being tied to our child all week long. Needless to say, that hampered our on-ship experience. Royal Caribbean really needs to get their act together regarding young childrens programs. It was unfortunate that we gave Royal Caribbean so much money and did not get to enjoy the experience to the fullest.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The ships staff (with the exception of guest relations) was great. They were polite, helpful, loved our kid, and remembered our names. Great experience with the food staff, bartenders, and room attendants!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The balcony cabin that we had was laid out very similar to the others that weve seen in the past. The bed seemed a little less comfortable than what we had on the Carnival Legend.

Pros: Destinations

Cons: Childcare
