Review summary

The wine themed river cruise aboard the AmaCello was an amazing experience. Toured vineyards with the owners, tasted all types of regional wine and even had customized excersions! Made great friends with staff and passengers alike. Couldn't have asked for anything better. The whole stateroom was beautiful and I slept like a baby every night waking to a beautiful new view throught the large french balcony windows!

RoboFlorida... that's too bad. Did you consult a travel advisor? They could have told you that only the themed cruises such as the wine appreciation, art appreciation, etc. have onboard lecturers. As far as the cabin size, you will be waiting until the EU rebuilds every lock for the possibility of larger staterooms. The ships can only be so big in order to fit through them. This is not deep water cruising.

I am a seasoned cruiser with Crystal and Silversea.  This was my first river cruise and I'm not rushing back. Our cabin was one of four large suites...not really large.  The regular cabins are tiny.  The scenery was gorgeous, but other than look at the scenery there is nothing to do unless you are in port.  No lectures or enrichment programs.  The food was fine (nothing exceptional) and everyone sits  down at 7:00.  No later option is offered.  We like to go to the bar for a drink at 7:00 and eat at 8:00 while cruising. Most didn't go to the bar because it was not included.   I found the majority of passengers to be a pretty unsophisticated group.  Most didn't dress particularly nicely for dinner.  Some in shorts and short sleeved shirts.  If this is your forte, you will be quite happy.

I'm going to wait for a company the caliber of Crystal to get into the River cruise business before I go again.

I had not heard of this company befor I attended a presentation yesterday.  I am looking over their brochures.
