Review summary

I would highly recommend this cruise to others. It was my family's first time cruising and our expectations were exceeded. My favorite part of cruising Allure of the Seas was experiencing the magnitude of the ship. It's size made us feel as though we were not on a ship; but rather in a mall. The number and variety of activities and entertainment kept us extremely busy as there were always something to do. Of course, the ship is so huge, that we did not have time to see the entire ship in our 7 days of cruising. The performances were professionally delivered.

Our cabin provided a good view to the aqua theater, as well as, an excellent view of the boardwalk.

I feel the same way about Allure of the Seas- my favorite cruise ship to date.

Carnival has 24 hour ice cream and often a frozen yogurt. RC doesn't have frozen yogurt and is not 24 hours.

Twangster - how is the ice cream different? :) I am obsessed with ice cream and haven't cruised RCI yet but will be on Allure in Dec. we've sailed 2 carnivals and 2 princesses. Thanks!

There are some minor differences compared to Carnival with things like ice cream and how the buffet works. Lido marketplace tends to have buffet lines that you snake through where Windjammer cafe is set up so you just go for the items you want. At first I was stuck in my Carnival ways and found it chaotic until someone pointed out it's more efficient. Now I sort of prefer it. It's faster. So keep an open mind and don't think of things like "this isn't how Carnival does it" rather "this is different, cool". Allure is an incredible ship, nothing in the Carnival fleet compared. Show reservations are recommended- nuance of mega ships where venues can't possibly hold everyone at once. Make show reservations before you board as soon as possible. After trying Oasis & Allure i've pretty much dropped Carnival.

Love your review, can't wait to meet Allure in November. This will be my first time on any of the RC lines.

Allure is a beautiful ship. Likely more than two cruises to experience everything. The first one is just a practice cruise, second is a dress rehearsal. Third times a charm. 😛

Awesome review...so the Allure requires at least 2 cruises? Nice problem
