Its not a matter of producing heat, as much as how much power it draws. Cruise cabins do not use the same size electrical wiring as standard household wiring. Which can result in damaging their circuit breakers, or cause a electrical fire if you draw too much current through it.

They will definitely confiscate your steamer. They confiscated mine.

Anything that produces heat is prohibited. So they will confiscated.

It was a no go on the steamer for us. Fortunately we were reunited at the end of the cruise.

As soon as I unpack I put clothes that need pressed in a laundry bag and have room steward pick them up. The next day they are hanging in my closet before dinnertime. I'm wrinkle free for the week.

My steamer is made by Chi so they probably thought it was flat iron since it was packed with hair stuff lol
