Review summary

This was our 13th Cruise and third on RCI. The crew was awesome and saw to our every need and request. The ship was very clean and health & safety was a high priority. There were many activities for passengers or you could find a lounge chair and sleep the day away. We will definitely sail with RCI and Adventure of the Seas in the future.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was our first time embarking at Galveston, TX. The staff was very well organized and very friendly. I think we went from entering the terminal to setting foot on the ship in less than 30 minutes. We had a 12:30 arrival time but got there about 11:30. We were allowed to board early. One negative was that the gangway to the ship was quite steep. If people have trouble walking, they might need assistance.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food on board was excellent during the entire cruise. It was always well prepared and portions were plentiful.

Cafe Promenade

5 out of 5

The pizza served in this venue was amazing as were the desert choices. The extended hours made it late-night destination for a snack.

Johnny Rockets

5 out of 5

I love the 50's theme. There is an extra charge of $9.95 per person but it is all-you-can-eat. The French fries and onion rings are amazing.

Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

The Sapphire Dining room serves excellent food with plentiful portions each night. Our food was very tasty and the wait staff was second to none.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Our main focus on this trip was relaxation so we didn't do many onboard activities. Since this is a holiday cruise, we did make 3D snowflakes which was very enjoyable.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff we have encountered have been friendly and very helpful. Our main dining room wait staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions about what to order. Our room steward always kept our stateroom clean and addressed any special needs that we had. Officers were even willing to get drinks for us in the buffet dining area.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ships layout is easy to navigate and the venues are easy to find. I found the common areas clean. The ship is well-maintained but there are places that definitely need updating.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We needed an accessible room. This room and bathroom was spacious. There is room to accommodate a wheelchair if necessary. Our room steward kept our stateroom in top shape daily

Ship tip

Interact with the great crew! They want to tell you their story and we can learn about their culture.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was very smooth. Staterooms very placed into groups to promote social distancing due to COVID-19. Luggage was taken to the terminal and going through customs was simple. The gangway off the ship was steep and slick due to rain. People with mobility issues might need assistance.
