Review summary

We have cruised with RC many times and this particular ship before....noticed that the quality has gone down. The food and amenities have declined. The servers in the dining room were great...the bar staff at the pool bar was terrible. Knowing they have their gratuities built in to each order, seemed to lower the quality of their service and friendliness. The ship is showing its age and appears tired and in need of updating. The ports of call were nice. Overall I would say it was an average experience. We will look to another cruise line or updated ship next time.

After ready lots of bad reviews, I was afraid that we would not have s good cruise. We decided the trip would be what we made of it. If we only looked for the negative that is all we would see. We had a wonderful time. Our room was great, our cabin steward was fantastic. Our wait staff in the dining room did a great job. The itinerary was the best. Just go enjoy!

Will, reading over this...I wasn't clear. Overall as a cruise line, rc has been#1 for many years. I can assure you that you would enjoy a new ship or newly refurbished ship. I am doing the Adventure strictly for the ports and it is one of the older boats in the fleet.

I guess we shall agree to disagree. To say there is nothing positive to say about this ship is very close minded. Was it perfect? No. Did the pros far outweigh the cons? Definitely. If I had of not booked due to negative reviews I would have missed an amazing trip.

I wish I had an answer for you but I don't. I can only speak on my own personal experiences. I have many family and friends who love RC and have only positive things to say about their ships.they are the ones who talked me into going on the cruise. I went on the cruise with 11 family members, many who have been on newer RC ships, everyone was disappointed expect for one person. Everyone's experiences are different but I expected more.

Whoever gave RC a #1 rating definitely hasn't been on the Adventure of the Seas lately. The ship needs to be permanently dry docked. When a 7 day cruise cost as much as it does on RC, high expectations should be expected. I just came back from a 7 day cruise on it March 5th and there is nothing positive about that ship, terrible food, a bed that felt like I was sleeping on the floor, nonexistent room service, and a ship with nothing to do on it. Those that defend this ship, keep wasting your money, I'll never step foot on that ship again.

So many people come on rc w expectations through the roof...people that have only cruised lower tier lines. I suggest trying a newly refurbished ship or a new ship and judge from there. Us loyal rc folks do the Adventure for the itinerary.

We just returned from a wonderful week on the Adventure. I too was wary of booking this particular ship due to these reviews, but the itinerary was my main focus and with only 1 sea day I decided the ship really wouldn't be that much of an issue. Best decision I ever made! Ship is beautiful and the food, I my opinion, was some of the best I've ever experienced on a cruise ship (Carnival and Royal)

We had a great time on our cruise DESPITE the ship. This was our 3rd cruise for the 8 of us and we all agree that the food was by far and away the worst we had, the night iteniary had a lot to be desired and the bar staff at the pools were horrible. On the 3rd day I went to the pool bar and could not get a mojito because they ran out of Lime, they were also out of lemons....REALLY?!?! And on the fifth day they were out of mint.... Cmon man!!! The bar staff was soooooo slow. We all had to laugh at the quality of the food.... We have better food at cafeterias..... Easily 1 star level of food quality. CARNIVAL Glory and Breeze easily surpassed royal in food... HANDS DOWN. The shows and events that RC had scheduled also left a lot to be desired. The only show that is worth mentioning was the Platters... Easily the best thing RC had to offer... and they are 30+ years past our time. We were always under the assumption that RC was a higher end ship over Carnival...WAY WRONG assumption... we are definitely going back to carnival.... might try Norwegian in the near future.

I was on AOS in October. .. I'm sure if I REALLY looked, I could find something to complain about, but I was too busy having a great time on one of the BEST vacations I've ever had

Just got off 2 weeks on her. The ship is just fine and the staff was great. There were 9 of us and we all had a wonderful time. Wear and tear is normal if you have thousands of people on board week after week. Go and enjoy. People are too critical!

I've noticed a lot of people saying the same thing. I'm hoping not to have this experience on my first cruise coming up soon. I've also been advised that those charges can be removed and you can reward only deserving individuals!
