Paradise with an Exception by bobamantea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Marina / Destination: South Pacific

The cruise itself was excellent. It was just the embarkation rip-off that tainted the whole experience. It is highly recommended that if you book this cruise to make your own arrangements well in advance of arrival. For example you could arrive the same day as departure but book a local tour of Papeete and its surroundings. Or come a few days early and stay in a hotel but be sure to do this way in advance.

Diamond? Really should be called Cubic Zirconium Princess by joannmondrus

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

We planned for this particular cruise for over a year. In hindsight we would have inquired about what type of ship in more depth. Having our favorites missing on the Diamond made a difference. We were very disappointed we missed two ports, and also disappointed in how the ship was infested with crickets! There were many passengers who were ill on this ship. It ultimately brought my husband down with an awful cold.

Cruise itself was great by mlinville1262

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

The process for signing up for the cruise with Marriott was less that satisfactory. Misinformation was given and sometimes calls were not returned. Will probably not use Marriott again for vacation planning. Also the transfer to the airport was a disaster, see above. Otherwise the cruise itself was very enjoyable. I would especially commend our Cabin Steward and Kay in the Ensemble Bar and Sebastiano in the Blu Dining Room. There were many other attentive and helpful crew members on board. Did not like being constantly harrassed and hawked to by crew members trying to sale additional cost items such as the specialty restaurants and photo opps..

Our first cruise by sherylglasgow

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

For the price, it was a good deal. I would prefer a newer ship. Better buffet food, and more things to do on sea days. Vary things

Wonderful Celebrity Cruise by stringbeanca

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

overall a good cruise. Celebrity needs to work on people getting off ship for stops. One stop had to wait over an hour to get off ship to visit port. excursion people got off right away. with time to get into city (40 minutes each way) it did not allow us time for the things we wanted to do.

A Dream Come True by seacrib

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Marina / Destination: South Pacific

I booked this cruise several years earlier and when it finally came time to go I had very high expectations. I was so pleased and happy that this trip exceeded my wildest dreams. The Islands, their peoples, the Ship itself, the Crew, food, Suite, ambience could not have been better. This trip was my dream for a long time and I could not be more pleased.

Diamond Princess in Sydney by Thoman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

We enjoyed the cruise due to the great weather, most exciting cruise thru the Fjords, with crystal blue sky. We liked the ship but it was not our favorite. We have been on a lot of cruises, so we know the ones we like. We still book the destinations, rather than the ships.

As expected. Just keep as is and I will be back. by medgorfajn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Journey / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

You have to stop unneeded noise from very high set amplifiers penetrating up to 7 levels. Also how came Oceania on same ship doesn't have this problem?

Reasonably good by WongSeeWai

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Noordam / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Quite enjoyable overall as I was traveling with family members. Good food, very good services, but there were not many activities on board which I like. Felt bored when on sea for long time. The soft bed is the worst part of the whole trip.

Bucket List Cruise, Bucket included by Puph2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Marina / Destination: South Pacific

A bucket list cruise that included a visit to Easter Island and French Polynesia. The demographics on this particular cruise was older than my previous experiences on this ship. The cruise was significantly impacted due to the need to implement extreme sanitation procedures in response to GI issues among passengers and crew. While there were a number sea days on this particular itinerary, the ship offered many on-board activities and dining opportunities.

A Trip of a Lifetime by hipple975

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Maasdam / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

We enjoyed the trip. The Maasdam is a lovely ship. The service and accommodations were wonderful. The food at the Rotterdam is phenomenal. My husband preferred eating at the Lido. I would recommend this ship and cruise to anyone.

Wonderful new zealand cruise by mb1locsal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Outstanding, unforgettable. lovely with family. it was a very relaxed cruise for me witha room I could be happy in watching from my balcony because I had surgery recently, and couldn't do anything too athletic, and I wanted something restful, but my adult children were very active with activities on board and excursions. It is perfect for a family with action and rest as you choose. On this ship I was able to know I was on the ocean and enjoy the natural beauty without the constant intrusion of noise and overly bright lights, but there was plenty of action and activity for those who wanted.
