The staff is FANTASTIC! by lorraineatemps

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

We will probably go on one of these cruises again, and likely to the Mexican Riviera, but may possibly try for a different ship. The staff on the ship seems to always be very cheerful, helpful and truly loving their job as well as being very committed to the passengers having a great time. We got a balcony for our first cruise, and while it was really enjoyable to have it, the amount of time spent out on it, might be a good place to save some money for the various other expenses and excursions one would want to enjoy. The food was pretty good throughout the cruise; my husband enjoyed all of it and they have some elegant things to try (you can get frog legs and other similar items). You can also get prime rib and nice steaks on some days without paying the extra fees for the premium dining rooms. The things to make sure to do: Order up 1-2 12 packs of bottled water for your room--we used two 12 packs during the cruise. You can also bring one 12 pack of sodas and a bottle of wine per person onboard--I suggest that unless you're  big drinker and want the (virtually) unlimited drink plan. Since both people in the same room have to order the same drink plan, we found it more economical to put about $350.00 in our "bar cash" account, prepaid, The all inclusive drink plan is double that amount and we had enough beverages. Your sodas and everything can come out of that too, and there is always free coffee and juice available. WHAT WENT WRONG: 1) The "tips" are levied on three levels and you don't have to pay all of them, but you might learn the hard way--we prefer to tip individually rather than the set rate.2) There are "buying opportunities" at every corner you turn: Art sales, watch sales, Levian jewelry, etc., etc.,--they make it hard to say NO., 3) the electrical sockets in our room were faulty as was our phone.4) I had an accident off ship, and got many cuts on my hands and broken glass left me wondering if I needed stitches, and if there was still glass embedded. The ship said that technically I didn't really book the excursion though them (just a link on their website for recommended tours), so they wouldn't see me unless I wanted to pay A LOT OF CASH up front and try to seek reimbursement through my insurance company. I refused and now my hand is infected. They didn't care at all. 5) There weren't as many opportunities for activities onboard as I thought there would be, like shuffleboard, etc.  WHAT WENT RIGHT: 1) THE STAFF IS awesome (except for the medical office), 2) The food was good, 3) The ship didn't seem crowded--there was always space for alone time. 4) The Miracle is an older ship and in pretty good shape, but certain things show her age.5) The drink deal is a rip-off6) Comedy show was free and GREAT!

****BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE FOR MAXIMUM SHIPBOARD CREDITS

The worse service I could ever imagine. by mmorales911

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Mexico

Aside from our Amazing stateroom employee assigned to our room, everyone else on board was rude or unfriendly. I have cruised using a variety of competitor in the business. This was my wife and I first time using Princess Cruises. We where told that we should expect better service and higher quality care with this cruise. I was shocked with the short tempered and burned out attitude from 89% of the ships members. I was even told by some employees that it was their first month and that they hated it and wanted to go home. This virus of an attitude was clearly felt on this ship. I had terrible service in all ship board dining and buffets that we used. The only quality service was at the Crown Grill and from our stateroom employee Manuel. I don't believe I will ever return to Princess Cruises because of this treatment. I have been employed  in the past as a waiter, bartender and now as a Firefighter. Which has taught me the importance of quality customer service and patients with crowds from different backgrounds and ages. This 7 day trip was disappointing to say the least.

Compared to former cruises by RPthelegend

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

I've been on two other cruises with Norwegian Cruise Line. We enjoyed our time on Carnival Imagination. If I could summarize the difference between NCL an Carnival, NCL seemed to have more family friendly entertainment options. Carnival seemed to be more of a party cruise line. We were disappointed with the comedian shows and Divas. The comedians resorted to colorful humor. The performers in Divas did a great job, it was just more of a concert than a show. Epic Rock was much more entertaining. The food was good and we enjoyed the your-choice dining option. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our stateroom attendant Tapa was great! Even knew our names before we met her.

We had a great time by MICPIB1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

Overall, we had a great time on our 4 Day Catalina/Ensenada Cruise.  I enjoyed Ensenada more than Catalina, as there was much more to see and do.  Catalina was nice to see, but we will be going back to Ensenada.  The staff was great on the Carnival Inspiration, everyone that we interacted with was pleasant, friendly and many remembered and called us by name like we were special to them. Great first cruise! by CruisinSquatch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

I would recommend a cruise through carnival. The staff were extremely nice and made us feel welcome a board. The food was delicous and they had lots of options. They had plenty of activities and entertainment options to keep us busy all day. The only thing I'd suggest is to make sure you bring lots of money everything extra costs and nothing on board is cheap. But overall it was good first cruise experience and ill probably do another one in the future.

Carnival Imagination Review by haselpark

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

The Crew was amazing, friendly and helpful. Food was also amazing. The Ship showing its age. Swimming pool too small and additional "Serenity" areas would have been nice. The next cruise I will chose a window or balcony. The location of the Casino which allowed smoking was difficult.

Rock the Boat - No More Miracles! by cruisinsfun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

This boat never stopped rocking. Also, the sound of the engine vibrates the entire boat, including our room located on level 6.  The Jacuzzi at Serenity Lounge was always cold. The food was good and the boat is beautiful, however, I would not wish to return on this boat due to the instability on the water and the loud sounds of the engine.

Princess? More like Lady in Waiting. by ButcherBoy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Mexico

My Favorite part of this cruise was the mini-suite - I will not book another ordinary stateroom. Well worth the extra and not that much more than a balcony but so much more room.

I am a food lover and so that is one of my primary entertainments and indulgences. My wife is a shopper with a similar enthusiasm for her pursuit. There was plenty to delight us both.

I was disappointed that our time in port was limited, decreasing with each stop. I also would have liked it if we had a day at sea between each one.

This cruise had a happy hour that I, my wife, and several dozen of our closest friends enjoyed quit a lot, but libations generally were generally very affordable anyway.

A true time away from the daily routines! by Cruiser4895985

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Mexico

Princess Cruises got it right in regards to entertaining their guests!  The top rated entertainers and shows included comics, singers, and a magician, plus the ships own song and dance team.  We thoroughly enjoyed every evening of top notch shows.

The food and choices for dining were excellent and varied, served by a doting staff whose friendly and positive attitude add to the experience.

When our toilet would not flush, it was fixed within the half hour.

We save money by not booking excursions through the cruise line.  Our recommendation would be that Princess provide guests with information on self walking tours.

First time on a cruise and can't wait to book my next one!!! by boozncruzn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

It was my first time on a cruise and I didn't know what to expect because I heard many different stories from friends who have gone on cruises before. So besides the weather being horrible, I couldn't have asked for a better time. There were many different activities to do to keep you busy and numerous food options. I was very impressed with the service of the staff and how they greeted us by name and with a big smile every time they saw us. I loved the little folded animals left on our bed. The staff that cleaned our room even went the extra mile to organize our shoes and line then up against the wall. At dinner on Saturday night the server brought me a little birthday cake and sang to me which made me feel special. We took advantage of the adult hot tub on the last night which was a good way to relax before having to pack our bags. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to book our next cruise!!!

Grreat Cruise -Carnival were wonderful by lloydbridges

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

To a fault everybody through the check in process and on board were

exceptional . Polite courteous and efficient . Unfortunately this has been shadowed by the shore excursions group . We booked a tour for Ensenada through them and when we wentSurprised to check in  for it they had no record . (Order 524566) .When I asked for a refund when I got back home I was told that electronic tickets had been sent and they did not pass on to the tour operator details of passengers so they would not refund my $100 odd . In this day and age of electronic everything I found this excuse a convenient hurdle to hide behind  ; take the money and don't worry about the customer. I am very disappointed in this stance and still expect a refund . It is such a shame to mar an excellent product with such amateur practices .

What happened?! by crusier111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Imagination / Destination: Mexico

I've been on this cruise five times.  This time it was different.  The food, entertainment wasn't as good as before.  Called room service 3 time to get a blow dryer... never got one.  Went to dinner with wet hair.  Anyhow, I won't be sailing with Carnival again.  The staff as great.  Very cheerful. Although ever time I ask a for direction I was sent in the wrong way.. Enjoyed being with my honey but disappointed.

Awesome! by LexisMommy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Inspiration / Destination: Mexico

I love cruising! If I could I'd at least go once a year! The experience is so amazing and relaxing.

The reason why I did give it a 4 this time though is because last time I went on a cruise all the crew members would call me by my name and it was awesome and it was really comforting, this time they didn't and totally forgot my name. It's not a big deal I know they see a bagillion people so it's ok. And oh gosh the food is amazing!!!

The ones that did upset me were the people once you need to leave the boat and they're inside that building the round one. They were really rude to me so I had such a relaxing time and then time to go home and this woman treated me horrible.
