Service and food not up to par by gnicolopou

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Costa neoRiviera / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We have cruised on other lines and the level of service, foo and drinks was much better. I couldn’t believe there was no food late night other than pizza and hamburgers which cost more money. Drink packages were ver confusing and I was tired of being asked for my Costa card constantly

Thanks to Brenda Gimbert, 's best agent by Imserious

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Celebrity production shows (Pearl, Cosmopolitan, Life) are flimsy and witless; Celebrity should not be gouging passengers for shuttles from industrial port to downtown; cruise director should not be trolling for 10's on the Celebrity post-cruise survey. --Steve Kenney, Salem, Oregon

Awesome Cruise to Norway by macivy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Great cruise with the most beautiful landscapes and scenery. We had the best weather possible. All the excursions we took were wonderful although I thought the prices were rather high. The North Cape was a highlight of the trip for us. The ship was well designed.

Wonderful Baltic Cruise! by millard71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We enjoyed the ship and all of the ports. We did independent (local) tours at Rostock (to Berlin) and St. Petersburg and both were outstanding. Our cabin steward did a great job and it seemed everyone on the ship was friendly and helpful. We made some great memories and would definitely recommend this cruise to others.

It has plenty of areas to find a quiet place.Smooth ride, very organize when arriving to all ports. Great shows. The casino is small. The food was wonderful with a variety of foods to choose from.

A great taste of coastal Italy and France. by ctomchak72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We had an amazing trip. We combined a few days in Rome beforehand with the 6 night cruise and it gave us a great overview of stops we might not have visited. Our cabin (sky suite) was a nice size and the food, especially in Murano, was better than expected. We traveled with 12 people and it made things very easy since there was a span in ages from 9 to 57. There was something for everyone. The kids club and teen lounge didn't completely appeal to our kids this time around. While the cruise was family friendly, it was a more sophisticated vibe and the young ones were a bit bored. The boys spent a great deal of time between the pool and the basketball court. They would have loved some nightly organized sport events in lieu of the lounge. The young women (18) were happy to tag along with us old people and do Karaoke and Silent Disco (fun). Our favorite stops were Rome (but we didn't consider it a stop since we were there 3 days before boarding), La Spezia (Cinque Terre was amazing), Nice and Corsica. We went into every port. I was not a fan of Sardinia as I found the city over run with graffiti and it didn't have the same feel as the other ports. Naples is not one of my favorites either, but we chartered a boat for the day and went to Capri and had our most enjoyable day there. Overall, I thought the value for the investment was amazing. We spent less on this cruise and were able to upgrade to a suite with a premium beverage package for much less than most cruises. I checked prices on future sailings and haven't seen as good a deal on anything at this time. I would recommend this cruise to my friends and family in the future.

Ideal Mediterranean by gkleinmd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Our dinner (Opus) servers were exceptional -- Xavier, and especially Naik, who deserves to become a head waiter. He was professional yet genuine. Our "bar server", Alexandra, was also exceptional, guiding us through the confusion of our Elite allowances, and being especially warm and patient. Kudos to all. Didn't like having to deal with Shore Excursions with loud music next door!

Baltic holiday by ehgross

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zuiderdam / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The itinerary of the cruise was excellent. The ship was well maintained, our cabin (with veranda) was immaculate and the stewards were friendly and accommodating. The food, whether in the dining room or the self-service area was very good to excellent. The food service was uniformly excellent. We attended the classical music performances in the evening, and these were very good. Otherwise, we did not make much use of the activities on the boat, other than to relax in some of the common lounges or the lido deck during cruising days.

Baltic Cruise by drbillsimpon

The one thing that was a problem was that in many ports there are huge distances to cover. For those with limited mobility having a couple of go-carts to transport would be ideal. The ship did offer wheelchair assistance, but the booking of this was cumbersome. Often when one returns to the ship, there was no one to meet us with a wheelchair.

Great Baltic Cruise by jnagy1206

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zuiderdam / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Great ship experience. Love Holland America. Wish the tours were more adventurous with more free time. Unable to even enjoy a German Beer in Kiel as we ended up with only 18 minutes free time. Our guide was long winded and rambled. And we were looking forward to our German beer - it's the only kind I will drink. But I would still recommend this cruise. The Baltic countries are very proud with historical significance and magnificent architecture.

uncomfortabe and unpleasant by destiny222

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

for a new ship, we had to report a creak when you stepped on the bathroom floor. maintenance was in our cabin twice and couldn't find the problem. the food choices in windjammer was fairly the same everyday and you had to walk to 3 different areas to get a full choice of the food. everything should have been in a central location. the wooden deck chairs in the smoking section on deck 15 were extremely uncomfortable. you sat down and slid to the back of the chair which made it impossible to use the standing ash trays

Nightmare - Cruise to forget!!! by wcorps1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We have cruised over 15 times and this one has been the worst experience by far. The service of all the staff was excellent with the exception of an individual in the customer service area. The food variety was not what I expected when thinking of previous cruises, some of them with the same cruise line. The shows were not exciting for us, with the exception of the magic show all the other shows felt repetitive. At the end to make matters worst, a passenger decided to jump creating a mess for everyone else. We understand that the cruise line had a responsibility to stay in the area and search for the person but we were very disappointed and frustrated with what the cruise staff did to help us rebook our flights coming back home. They provided just a few computer and a couple of phones to make the changes. With hundreds of people in line waiting to use them. We never made to the front of the line by the time the cruise arrived into port. The cruise staff should have made the phones in the cabins available so we could call from there the airlines or activate the cell phone service so we could use our phones but they didn't do neither of those. By the time we were able to obtain cell phone signal and contacted the airlines we all were considered no shows and new one way tickets had to be purchased. Aside from having to book hotel, pay for taxis, etc. The additional expense for us and our two sons and girlfriends came to around $7,000 and the most disappointing thing is that the cruise line is not offering any help with all these additional expenses...

Amazing Greece Cruise by kaiyom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This cruise was the best that we’ve been on so far. We enjoyed the service, ports, and activities tremendously. The entire experience would be incomplete without the amazing work of the staff. Our waiter Anderson was fantastic. He made us feel at home except without all the worry or stress. Our assistant waiter Mihai, was just as amazing, remaining unbelievably happy no matter how many requests we gave him. Our room serviceman Made also made us feel at home. When we lost something in the trash he came and brought it to us immediately. What made the cruise even better was the kindness of the staff we only met a few times. People like Jose, Velina, and Humberto were very helpful and extremely friendly to us, providing us company when needed. Overall, the cruise was an amazing experience that wouldn’t have been possible without the fantastic staff.

Great ports, sometimes too short a stay and felt rushed especially when tenders take so long. by nancyazmail

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Several shows on ship were exceptional especially Elements. No main atrium in middle of ship and elevators were confusing with accessibility very difficult to navigate at times and for disabled very frustrating for having to go to one deck to walk and then have to go back down elevator to access restaurants. Average to decent food in main dining rooms. Very limited 24 hour food in one place only with small menu and so so food. Icecream often not working and not available other than when buffet area open. Better on other lines for late night or special treats. Pizza not good and burgers not so great either. Fish and chips greasy frozen fish...odd while cruising one of the fish havens of the world! Very clean and services were good for most part. Several waiters were not the usual kind and fun folks as some, perhaps due to freestyle dining and not struggling to earn more tips from a specific clientele...not sure. One day very rough seas and everyone was sick. No announcements to direct passengers for help with sickness or how to reduce effects of the rough sea. I think 3.5 rating is accurate.

Great western Med cruise by wtphillips03

International airline tickets should be purchased 120+ days early. I think the price of the excursions is excessive.
