Great cruise by o5hog

We love the Alaskan cruise. Sea food was very good, cabin Stewart was very good. A little disappointed with the dining room service, it seems like the service in the dinning rooms have be going down hill on the last couple of cruises we have been on (total of 6 now) and this as was the worse so far. it seems like when the started adding the tips to your bill, the service isn't very good. you get better service in a regular restaurant in the states, and the service in the dinning room on the ships were much better by far when we 1st started cruising

Enjoyable cruise by baamkatich

We were fortunate to be able to cruise 2 weeks and the first week had excellent weather.  At Ketchikan we enjoyed the excursion to the Totem Bight State Park.  As we were leaving the port we spotted lots of whales spouting!. In Juneau the sun was shining so decided to take a seaplane trip to see 5 glaciers.  It was an amazing trip.  When we reached Skagway we took the White Pass railroad trip to see the beautiful scenery.  Enjoyed the Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier viewing.  because our captain spun the ship around at each glacier so everyone had a great view of these glaciers.  In Seward the cruise line only offered one excursion so we booked one independently with Kenai Fjords Tours to the national park.  During this cruise we saw lots of whales spouting, sea lions, eagles, and beautiful sights.  They served a chicken wrap with a glass of water and later a delicious chocolate chip cookie baked during our trip.  Icy Strait Point didn't have a lot of excursions that we were interested in so just walked around the shopping area.  Due to poor weather conditions we did not get to visit any glaciers on the return trip.

Great cruise, best entertainment we have experienced on any cruise.

Norwegian sun by cwhansen

Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

getting on board was confusing. You had to check in upstairs first but noo ne said anything until we got to the end of the building and was then told we had to go back to the front and go upstairs to check in then came back there. The food in the buffet on deck 11 was pretty much the same things everyday. It wasn't all that great. The main dining rooms didn't have very good choices. It's a good thing they had salmon on the everyday menu because that was the best thing on the whole menu. They have no lobster tail, shrimp, or most of the name steaks. Those have all been moved to the pay extra dining rooms. There were no formal nights, so good levis and shirt is all that you need unless you want to dress up anyhow. The cabin boy was never prompt in cleaning the room. Usually done around 2pm and then late in the evening. One night he wanted to com in after 9 pm and wanted to clean, but we didn't want to leave. We ended up taking a shower and straightening our own bed for the night. The ship is old but for the most part kept up good. Our room was an inside and had plenty of room with a sofa bed included. We did hear of a coupe of rooms which flooded-one from the drains backing up and soaking the floor, the other was the sprinkler in the room broke and showered the room with water. Deck 6 has plenty of room to walk around the ship, although in the front almost always had standing water you had to walk through. They never seemed to clean the water off the walkway. Overall the food seems to be better on other cruise lines that we have been on. The cruise staff was good and had sever activties to do..

The cruise was very joyful  the service was great  very clean the views of the glaciers was unbelievable.

The only minus was the 3rd day when the sea was rough and the ship unstable,  that caused me and my husband to be seasick

A well-managed cruise line by VannSmith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was our first cruise, and we were impressed with how well-managed Norwegian is. Staff at all levels were invariably friendly, helpful and efficient. The Sun offered plenty of options in food and entertainment, and we were glad it wasn't a bigger vessel. We would definitely go again on the Sun or a sister ship.

Norwegian Sun cruise/Alaska Glacier Bay Northbound by clarahodgson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The cruise was great.  We had some GREAT shore excursions.  Food was just okay on the ship.  Most of the Norwegian Sun staff were really good.  A few that really stood out were:  Ohoy (AKA Chips Ahoy or Tom Cruise) from the Sports Bar on 11 and Sy (Syaifula) from the same bar.  Excellent bar tenders and Ohoy was VERY entertaining.  Made you laugh constantly!  Sy remembered our name after the first visit and what we drank.  I would highly recommend this bar.  Also, our room steward, Amiel Alameda was very friendly and thorough.  The on-board activities were okay.  The comedian at night (Tim Kaminchi) was EXCELLENT and so was the group "Oh What a Night" who did the tribute to Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons were also very good.  Rest of the night time entertainment was just okay.  The check-in process was TERRIBLE.  Took us over 2 1/2 hours to check-in to get on-board.  Computers went down 3 times.  It also seemed like we spent a LOT of time standing in lines while on board.  Really appreciated all the hand sanitizers throughout the ship.  Our room was very good...thanks to our agent, Robert Cook.  He gave us really good recommendations on shore excursions and various things about the ship.  I would highly recommend using Robert Cook.  Very easy to work with and very thorough.  Booking the cruise thru Robert was very easy.  Thank you!  Over all, it was a great cruise though and I would highly recommend it.

The sites are recommended.  The ship was comfortable  The evening enterteiners were talented youth who performed nicely and danced on the stage even when the ship was very rocky and it was hard for the guests to walk.

Spectacular Vacation by karolndavid

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was a spectacular cruise and adventure in Alaska.  We were very pleased with the ship, the food, most of the entertainment and the service.  The route through the glaciers was the best.  We were especially excited about the close proximity of this large ship to the glaciers and the time each side of the boat got to spend watching them. Also, the National Park Ranger and other commentaries on area were great as well as sightings on whales and other animals.  We were on time to every port and got a lot of time in the 3 ports. Also, everything on the boat was timely.  We hope to return again.

This was the most beautiful vacation that we could expect.  Being our first cruise we did not know what to expect.  The friendly and lovely staff made this experience so much better then we expected. The best part for us was the entertainment and dining experience.  We were also bless to have the sun for most of the cruise.  Thank you Princess

This Alaskan cruise was awesome.  The scenery was spectacular.  The inside passage was serene.  I saw a pair of baby Orcas dive under the ship.  I saw some Orca tails and blow spots.  We hiked in Juneau and Skagway.  We enjoyed the grand dining room and service on board.

Excellent Alaslan Tour by melkonarik

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The ship was delayed into port by 7 hours. The delay had us boarding at 8:30 pm, dining room closed, Windjammer closing down, so little dinner before muster at 9:30pm.  Bad start to our dream cruise. No accommodation for our cruise time and dinner lost.  The remainder of the cruise went smoothly.

Great Ports of Call Itinerary compared to others by morenita1024

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

As a younger couple the actual in cruise activities lacked for though the Royal Caribbean aims to promote an experience for all ages many guest were of the older age groups so the daily compass activities ended around 10:30p. We also found that the "24hr solarium pool and exterior pool/jacuzzi" also closed for cleaning at 11p for up to 5 hrs at night which was very disappointing.  The best part of the whole cruise was the port of calls scheduled for each day allowed us to really explore different areas of Alaska to the max.  This is in comparison to other cruise lines with just two or three stops or that do round trip departure/destination voyages.  Having been on other Royal Caribbean cruises before this one fell a bit short for the inside cruising experience.  Though I can attest to this not being a norm cruising experience for the others trips have been top notch.

Satisfactory by stanwbeck

There was nothing outstanding about the cruise. Maybe our expectations were too high. The food, service and entertainment were okay, but not as good on Royal Carribean.

We thought every thing was great! (except for the rough sea the first day). Very clean boat. All personnel were friendly and more than willing to answer any questions we had! The service we had when he ate at night in the dining room was excellent! We definitely will travel with you again and recommend this trip to family and friends.

Dream Alaska Vacation by jlpreskitt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

My husband and I sailed with Royal Caribbean, on Radiance of the Seas to Alaska for seven nights. We had the most wonderful vacation one could ever hope for. Every aspect of the trip was simply perfect. The ship was beautiful, looked as pretty as the photos! Our room was adorable, plenty of storage room, separate bathroom, awesome balcony (a must)! Our steward kept our room spotless and made adorable towel pets for us. The staff all over the ship were more than attentive, saw to our every need.  We ate at Cascades, the main dinning room and had a ball. The servers entertained us almost every night, it was so much fun.  The food was unbelievable...delicious, beautiful, and plenty of it. Our personal servers outdid themselves for us constantly!  We thoroughly enjoyed the casino, delicious drinks, and fun for all.  Who plays putt-putt golf on a cruise ship...we did!  The "Centrum" was the heartbeat of the ship, and it was always rockin'! Singing, dancing, and games with lots of audience participation, One word to sum up our cruise on the Radiance would have to be "HAPPY"! Thank you Royal Caribbean from The Preskitts!!

Exceptional Service on Radiance of the Seas by lamchugh72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

My husband and I are not avid cruisers, however, we were invited to join friends who are avid cruisers and repeat customers with Royal Caribbean's Inland Passage Cruise.  Two factors, stand out....the service staff members are exceptionally trained, conversant, friendly and endearing.  And secondly, the ship is impeccably maintained. Every inch is spic and span at all times.  Navin and Willy were our waiters for the week and performed their responsibilities seamlessly.  Delightful, both of them.  Our room was sufficient in size, the bed comfortable and our room attendant, Jaya, was terrific. I would recommend this ship to anyone.

The shows are sub par.  Felt like I was watching a High school musical.  No food after midnight unless you pay for room service.  The bartenders at the pool were not very friendly.  Should sell bathing suits
