We arrived in Los Angeles the Friday before our cruise started so we could spend Saturday with our niece that lives in LA. We went with her to Universal Studios Hollywood. We had a perfect, warm weather day! Definitely was worth paying extra for the Express Pass, otherwise the lines were way too long and we wouldn't have been able to experience it all in one day.

The port is very easy to get to and navigate. The porters are pretty nice as well, but pushy. Just a word of caution there is some construction in the area.

its a shipping port...you arrive and get on the ship. Nothing special unless you get get there early and tour the battle ship in the parking lot. We didn't. I wanted my first drink.

We took the LA Overview/Farmers Market shore excursion that then dropped you off at the airport later in the afternoon. We had a 9:30 PM flight so it worked well for us. We saw a lot of Los Angeles and enjoyed our lunch at the Farmers Market. Taking the shore excursion made leaving the ship really easy. We had special "tour" luggage tags for when we set our bags out the night before. We were some of the first off the ship and our luggage was also some of the first off the ship and was really easy to find our bags. This was much easier then other times when we got off on our own and tried to find our luggage in the terminal. The tour section of the luggage storage was much smaller than the other groups so had fewer bags to look through to find ours.

When you stay to get near Cano start watching for Whales. We saw several before arriving and several when we left Cabo. Be sure to get up early to see the amazing sunrises.

I did not have a good experience at this port. It is located in an industrial area and there really was not much to do or see. We were put under a huge tent to wait for our Lyft driver.
