Oh! also, The Queen Mary is docked just south of the Navigator's Port in Long Beach. That's a great stop for cruise lovers!

Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach are two fairly famous places you can visit in the same day about an hour from West Hollywood.

Universal Studios, both the amusement park and the studio tour are pretty fun. Also Universal City Walk is right there with great restaurants and shopping. I assume you are doing all the Hollywood touristy things already.

If you don’t want to do theme parks, I’d recommend a studio tour or two. Multiple studios have them including Paramount and Warner Brothers.

Perhaps the biggest attraction and the one people will ask you about is Disneyland. Sure there are Disney parks all over the world but this is the original.

USS Battleship Iowa is right next to the Navigator. We loved the Presidential tour.

West Hollywood is the LGBQ... part of Hollywood with lots of shops and eateries. LA has amazing museums and nightlife. I would not do Santa Monica beach, sadly.
