We drove to port but did not really explore it though I am sure there is a lot to do if you research it ahead.

We drove from NY so we parked and went into the terminal to board the ship. Did not do any excursions.

Start and ending place was close to Statue of Liberty which we made arrangements to see a head of time, so it was perfect.
