Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey Port Q&A

4.1
What was your experience parking your car at a lot near Newark airport? My family requires 2 cars which would be $60/day or $420 for the week. I see that some hotels charge about $120 a week per car. Are these places typically safe? How did you go from these lots to the cruise terminal in Bayonne? Thanks

Off site surface long term parking near Newark Liberty International Airport will run you anywhere from $150-250 for a week (this is the total including luxury & sales tax not the just the come on pricing) unless you do a non-refundable reservation with the lot or find a Groupon code/coupon. You would then need to rideshare to the port which is about $35 fir the smaller X vehicles to $45/50 for an XL.

You might want to check out Hampton Inn and Hilton Garden Inn both in Ridgefield Park for park/stay/cruise packages (call the property front desk directly). It may workout as less expensive to stay there night before, park the car, get a good night's sleep, and have them shuttle you after breakfast in the morning.

Just a thought...since you're doing 2 cars maybe check out the cost of being driven there.

We always travel the day before the cruise and we always book with a company called Trinity Reservations. One price gets you the room, parking for the length of the cruise and private car to and from the port. we find it saves us between $100-$150 and a ton of headache. The website is trinityreservations.com Well worth a look. Hope this helps.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to answer my question. I would love to hear more about parking for $20 a day at the port. Everywhere I have read is that the price went from $25 to $30. We live in Massachusetts and priced out renting a minivan and that was close to $ for the week. No thanks. We also considered leaving the cars with family near Hazlitt, NJ and taking Uber. That was $150 each way per car. I have also looked at Groupon and other discounts and came to the decision not to park elsewhere as I don’t want the hassle of going to the airport, picking up my car and then my family. For the $ difference in savings is not worth the potential aggravation it may cause. Thank you once again.

Parking at the port is $20 per day per car. So why would you pay $30 to park at the airport and still need a ride?

We do not have to come in a day earlier..we live over and your way from the port.

I drive down from NH twice a year and park in the parking garage it's worth it. we love it.... the first time we parked off site and paid the company to pick us up on day of debarking and and the off site left about 100 of us to fend for ourselves and no refunds. Will never do that again.

I just actually parked at the parking garage next to the cruise port in June. The garage was $30 dollars a day it was right next door to the cruise port it was well worth the money. You just park the car and walk over so close and easy.
