We got to town 3 days early to do some sightseeing. Did not see the homeless issues talked about, but we stuck pretty much to Fisherman's Wharf, did a tour of Alcatraz and rode the cable cars. Did a tour of Muir Woods with Dylan Tours which was awesome.

Love sailing from SF. We have been blessed with great weather every time and sailing under the Golden Gate is a priceless experience.

This was a wonderful day spent in San Francisco! We rode the hop on, hop off bus and did an overall tour of the main attractions. There is an option of doing a walking tour of Chinatown but my husband wasn’t up to the walking as there is a lot of hills. It was a beautiful day but chilly and we rode on top but were able to see everything!

We choose to not do any excursions and just stayed in walking distance. We went to the ferry building for some lunch and to check out the area. It was very nice. Not so busy as pier 39. More locals than tourist we felt. And since we had two young kids, we went to the Exploration. Luckily it was opened the day we were at port. Our kids enjoyed it very much.

We arranged our own shore excursion and it worked out great. The company is "Great Pacific Tour" We had a city tour in the morning and a tour of the Muir woods and Salsilito in the afternoon/evening.

Stopover time of 5 hours was too short . In reality it was 3.5 hours which did not give enough time, as much of the local shops and restaurants were not open at the docking time.

It was a bit of a mess getting off our ship with Customs slowing everything down. However, we toured Fishermans Wharf, saw the sea lions, took a cab to the Trolley Station and rode the trolley back to the ship! A fun day!

San Francisco was beautiful but the city tour was terrible. We took a four hour excursion of SF which we only got off the bus three times (less than 15 minutes each time.) One of the 3 times was a bathroom stop. It is best to sightseeing on your own.
