No excursions but we ventured on our own. It is full of history but not very well kept up for being such a tour spot especially in the heat of Mardi Gras.

You will want to avoid cruising from this city if at all possible due to parking nightmares, rampant crime and a very bad inefficient port authority. You can trust me on this or you can learn the hard way.

The port is nice. Easy parking and going through port is easy. I myself do not care for New Orleans. But it is closer for us to catch a cruise and a one night stay will not hurt me.

Terminal parking was hard to navigate for me. I only saw the city in the morning, so it wasn’t as exciting as it would be at night I’m sure. Drove around all the exciting nightlife streets. They just smelled funny in the bright morning light :/ terminal was alright. Not the friendliest folk. The counter ladies at check in were a little irritable acting.

We spent two nights in New Orleans before we boarded the dream. Went down on the French Quarter had some Beignets Cafe Du Monde of course they were awesome . We also did a hop-on-hop-off tour that was really informative and we enjoyed that and a tour of the St Louis Cemetery which started down in the French Quarter and then you walked up to the cemetery and along the way they talked about history and culture and architect of New Orleans it was very interesting I really enjoyed it. The hotel we stayed at was not down on the quarter it look like they had just opened they were still painting and working and they're so it wasn't the greatest but for the price it wasn't bad and they did serve a continental breakfast. We only slept at the hotel so it didn't really matter!
