Visited Fort Clatsop where Lewis & Clark wintered, very interesting. Don't miss the Columbia Maritime Muesum. Also went to the Astoria Column was proviedes a good panoramic view on the area. Town is about a mile and 1/2 from the dock with a paved well marked sidewalk. Town is quaint and worth your time to visit.

Stop going to this port!!! We were there on Monday. 99% of the stores are closed on Monday! The one excursion we took into town turned out to be riding on a school bus where leg room between seats is for little people. Then, nothing to see or do downtown.

Pouring rain, but having been there before and loving beer, we did the walk about 3km to the Astoria Brewing company and enjoyed their libations and some snacks. The walk back in the rain was manageable as there was little wind. We had planned to UBER or taxi back from the pub and found that a) there is no UBER there and b) they have two taxis and there was a two hour wait, thus the walk back.

Great stop to visit this historic town, but there should have been shuttles provided. It was a long walk to town and I saw many people struggling.
