Another amazing excursion, The Valley of the Waterfalls! Never have I seen so many waterfalls in one day. Our guide was the son of the family who owns this amazing glacial canyon - his enthusiasm and depth of info was a big part of the tour. Some walking required. Fun to see the inside of a sheep barn, too.

We took a HAL Excursion called, Rural East Iceland. The tour lasted 5 hours. After leaving the tiny fishing village of Djupivogur, we stopped in the tiny town of Hofn. Then we continued through a picturesque mountain region and proceeded to the Hoffellsjokull Glacier. We stopped for a half hour to explore on our own. After our stop we visited a family-run horse farm. Here we were served pastries. Dress warmly for the stop at the Glacier.

Wonderful island walked over to the lighthouse. Went to listen to lady singing classic Vikings Songs in an old Whale Oil Silo. It was amazing. The weather was nice but windy.

The port itself doesn't have a lot to offer. We did have excellent birding at the pools outside of the village, about a mile or two walk from the ship.

Very small town but the rock shop and it's passionate owner who collected all the specimens in the shop was so interesting. The acapella concert in the storage tank was haunting and beautiful.
