sorry had trouble getting it to send. I was told no but it's advised strongly to have it. I've also read where they are saying it is now compulsory. Keep in mind that it's a small price to pay for peace if mind. If you fall and break a leg and need medivac, you're looking at tens of thousands dollars that you have to pay.

If you are going overseas, I always get travel insurance, whether it’s a cruise or anything else

If you want to get off the ship in Noumea, you are required to have insurance that covers both cruise and Covid events. This is a requirement of the local government of New Caladonia and is non-negotiable.
