The tender boats were excellent and the crew helped everyone get on and the island tours are very much worth it.

This was our favourite port and that of many that we spoke with. We took an outstanding shore excursion with a local photographer who gave us a combined photography tutorial and tour of the best viewpoints, involving 4-wheel driving and walking but not too much. Not as good as a "Thru the lens" walking tour we did in Rome recently, but still excellent.

We spent several days on Moorea previously and consider it the prettiest island around. On this visit we again teamed up with the Aussies for a one-hour taxi ride up to the lookout point. We'd been there before and were the only ones there. This time, a dozen years later, tourists thronged the place. Our driver was an amazing font of ecological, cultural and historical information about Moorea and Polynesia in general. Friends who took a ship excursion in a boat were disappointed.

Second time to Moorea. The dock didn't have much and so you more or less need a taxi to the village. We stayed on ship.

The locals believe this island resembles a heart. I have to agree with them; it is because of all the love these people have for each other and their God. Oh, by the way, it has spectacular mountains and wonderful people and beautiful shore lines.

Beautiful island. You can tour the whole island in 3 hours and the local operators are ready good and a lot cheaper then tours offered by cruise lines. Swimming with sharks and stingrays is a must do and will set you back about $50 USD per person.
