We did an excursion called Devils and Roos where they took you on a 30 min drive to Wings Wildlife Park where we saw Tasmanian devils, wombats, birds and kangaroos. All animals are sent to them by veterinarians who have treated the animals. They are healthy but cannot live in the wild anymore. The highlights were feeding the kangaroos that are quite tame.

Devils and Roos. was more than we expected. Toured the country side, which was beautiful, then to an indigenous animal preserve We got to experience kangaroos up close. We fed them and petted them it was a memorable time. We could move to Tasmania if it weren't so expensive.

We had been on excursions from Burnie on previous cruises, so this time just used the shuttle and explored the small city itself. A warm welcome as the bus came to the centre from the Lady Mayor of the city. She came onto every bus and greeted the arrivals. Says a lot about the friendliness of the locals.

Mainly a commercial port, you must take a [free] shuttle from the port to the city center. Upon arrival, the mayor of Burnie even stopped by to say welcome! I took an excursion to Cradle Mountain, which I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.
