We booked our tour in the UK before we left much much cheaper than the ship. You need to decide if you want to see penguins or do the battlefields very bleak & full of sheep but a great experience

Stanley is a really nice and unique city. Once again we got very lucky with the weather. We walked around the town and then took an excursion to Bluff Cove. We had an informative guide/driver and then saw the penguins, which was spectacular. There were a huge number of penguins, including babies and King Penguins - I highly recommend taking a trip here. We were also provided very nice tea and cake! Due to our itinerary change we had a long stay in Stanley, so plenty of time to enjoy/maximize this destination.

ok stop but shops and restaurants closed at 1:30pm. many cruisers were glad to get off the ship after 10 days or so and doing commerce is simply not important on this island.

This is where those Baby Penguins get hatched and there are many excursions to get you too them. The town is not too big so you can walk the downtown. I took a tour of the countryside. There is a dog about 3 blocks from the dock, he likes you to throw him the tennis ball....he drops it over the fence for you too throw it back over.... All Day Long!!! Real Cute to watch.

Port is quaint. No data or Wi-Fi unless you buy a prepaid card at the supermarket. If you want local lamb, go to Malvina and order the Slow Braised Local an Shoulder. It wasn't fall apart tender, but it has a nice flavor with the herb seasoned lamb ju. Tour bus windows were dirty and had no a/c. Very dusty, gravel roads, none of the stops were worth what we paid. All of the excursions are overpriced in the Falklands, but spend the extra money and do one with the penguins, dolphins or more adventurous excursion.
