Just amazing…the Bliss even had someone from the Panamá Canal team on board give us a guided tour using the ship’s intercom. Very cool.

Transiting the canal was so much more than I expected and I expected it to be amazing, this truly is a journey that I will remember for the rest of my life

It was nice sailing, it was cool to see the locks but was just not what was expected and if you wanted to observe from the front of the ship you had to fight the crowd.

Very interesting travel through the locks, beautiful lake to traverse.

This is, of course, the highlight of the trip! If you're taking pictures alone, you'll spend a lot of time dashing between the fore and aft. It works better across two people. Do remember to take multiple batteries, since you WILL run out the ones you start with! One of the joys of going through the old locks is seeing how close the ship gets to the side of the locks. Unfortunately, Princess has very few ships left that are small enough for this (Coral and Island Princess are about it) so all of the trips are now through the new locks. Not quite as close, with plenty of space for tug boats to keep the ship aligned instead of the traditional "mules". Sailing Gatun Lake between the locks is a chance to go inside for some food, but don't lose sight of the outside! There are some Great Lake views. Get a seat at the Lido buffet, and watch the lake go by.

This time we went in the old locks and it was better. It is much more interesting to watch with the "mules" and old gates, etc. The old locks have two lanes so you can watch the ships next to you as you pass. This Princess ship had a narrator but very hard to hear and not a lot of info. Best to study the history before you go.
