port itself is not attractive, but we had a good excursion to Luxor, Valley of the Kings Have the same criticism, though, of behavior in the Stardust of some of the passengers (particularly the Chinese, who don't seem to have a notion of extending courtesy to anyone outside their immediate group). I communicated this to the cruise director.

Yes, it is a long drive to Luxor, but man o man, it was awesome! Best excursion ever I think

There is nothing to see in Safaga town. Luxor is too far away. If you want to see Luxor, it is better to take a river cruise.

Luxor and the other Egyptian sites were fantastic. Long bus ride to get to and from the sites however.

Long day trip to the Valley of the Kings. Well worth it, but a convoy of busses were late back to the port! Lucky the ships tour was running late, and so the ship’s departure was delayed.
