We had to skip Kushiro, Japan due to bad weather. I had really been looking forward to that stop. We also didn't sail through the Inside Passage of Alaska, as originally planned. that was a big disappointment. The stops in Alaska were okay but, again due to weather, the shore excursion that we planned was cancelled. I know that the cruise line can't control the weather, but it was still disappointing. The views around Kodiak were spectacular, though.

Interesting port city on the northern island of Hokkaido. Tour included wetlands and a mountain top observatory where we got our first exposure to Japanese people, vending machines, etc. Tour guide hard to understand with heavy Japanese accent and inflections. The Japanese Customs & Immigration check-in was a nuisance.
