You need to take a tour here

We found this port rather boring. The amber factory was interesting.

Our excursion was to a beautiful park, but we could not really participate due to food poising from dinner the night before

First time here and feels very reminiscent of the communist era due to the architecture, layout etc despite gaining independence. A few old buildings remain but most of the city was destroyed by both the Germans and Russians at the end of WW2. We took a shore excursion called 'Back to the Village'. It was a very interesting and authentic experience with hands on knowledge from the guide who was born and raised in the town in the 1980's (still lives there today). A destination with a lost and evolving identity.

Road train into town 15 dollars. Cash only. Shame Princess didn't tell us. Didn't walk far but had beer and lunch again. Some people liked it, some didn't.

Meh. Did an excursion on this one. I have no idea why I thought that it would be worth the money but I held out hope.

Hate to be repetitive but this was another beautiful city rich in history, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, all going through similar challenges. We had the best tour guide, a young man from Ukraine who was extremely humorous and very sharp with his history. Most entertainment on an excursion in a long time.
