A very significant city in the history of the modern world. The Atomic Bomb Museum is well worth a visit (advise pre-booking) but was very crowded. An easy place to walk around and you must try and get to an okonomiyaki restaurant to have one of these ‘delicacies.’ Wonderful.

Again, many sites of interest to visit. We didnt understand the trains there. But people were so friendly and helpfull even without asking them. Such a great hospitality.

The process for customs at arrival was horrible - imagine 1000 people all in line for 2-3 hours at once ON the ship before we could debark. The exhibits were depressing and not American friendly - but our guide

We took the tour to Miyajima, an island near Hiroshima - bus ride to Hiroshima and a ferry ride to the island. The guide took us to a temple there, entry fee included in the tour price, and we were then allowed to explore the island for another 90 minutes. Very beautiful area, very aggressive deer wandering about - brought back memories of my time working at the Japanese Village and Deer Park in Southern California.

Site of the first Atomic Bomb dropped on Japan. Saw the skeleton of one of the buildings that survived the blast. Still too hot, 90 F, to really enjoy places and cultures of Japan.

Took Panaromic Hiroshima excursion, disappointed. Only visited war n peace memorial n drive around showing us school n downtown. Time too short by a hour. supposed to be 2.5 hours. Tried hard to understand guide. Should had stopped at market to allow us to walk around to use up time.
