Cruise Paradise Harbor, Antarctica Port Q&A

A: We did a similar South America / Antarctica cruise with Celebrity in February, 2023. We loved it! We were fortunate to have calm seas and generally good weather. Temperatures ranged from 95 degrees F in Buenos Aries to well below freezing (with wind... chill) in Paradise Harbor. Our favorite ports were Falkland Islands (penguin viewing) and Ushuaia (end of the world). Large cruise ships like Norwegian or Celebrity don’t make physical contact with Antarctica like the smaller exploration cruise ships, i.e., Hurtigruten, but you will see countless ice bergs, glaciers, and snow covered islands that can be pulled close to your ship with a camera zoom lens or binoculars. You will also have plentiful opportunities to view wildlife including penguins, dolphins, whales, and sea birds. My take on Antarctica was it was similar to Alaska’s Glacier Bay but on steroids. It will not disappoint. Have a wonderful cruise adventure!See More
