We went to Da Nang from this port. Like most of the ports in Vietnam, very interesting. Excellent tour guides.

Magnificent visit this morning to the sanctuary of My Son (Vietnam) to see an ancient Temple of the kingdom of Champa dating from the 7th century. The temple was heavily bombed and partially destroyed by the Americans during the Vietnam War in 1965-68. On a hot afternoon (33 degrees) we went to Da Nang to see the statue of the Budha woman (65 meters high), the Buddhist temples and the pretty beach of Da Nang. A long, but superb day, admiring this country with many faces.

Our excursions of Da Nang were fantastic and eventful. The port was more of an industrial port maybe an hour from Da Nang, which meant much or your port day was taken up by riding on a bus. I understand there are plans for a new terminal closer to Da Nang, which I see as a great tourist destination.
