We organized our own private guide and excursions over the 1.5 days while in port. A few interesting sights but after a while get "templed" out. Trip to floating market and train . market interesting if one can tolerate many many tourists. Advantage of ship size is it was able to get close to city center vs being docked 1.5 hrs or so further away, having to fight the horrible Bangkok traffic. We strongly recommend the Siam theatre show which we did on our own and surprisingly was not on the offered ship excursions. ( a little pricy though at about USD $65)

It’s a container port that is 4km to the main road and not safe to walk so it’s a taxi or stay on board.

I have visited Bangkok many times over the past 10 years. The Grand Palace and the Jade and Reclining Buddhas are definitely on the must see list. If you are in town on the weekend, the Chattatuck Market is the largest in Asia. The floating flower markets and the Royal Barge Museum are also great stops.
