Accessible to visit Jerusalem and the Dead Sea which were totally amazing and impressive.

We had rented a car in Ashdod and could not get the 2.3 miles to the site. We weren't allowed to walk out of the port (I understand it was security). But NONE of the taxi drivers would take us. It took us over an hour to find someone (and that involved multiple port officials - who were not helpful) to find anyone. Then the guy charged us $25! The return taxi was only 40 shekels. Huge difference. It really spoiled our experience there. I would recommend a Dead Sea and Jerusalem tour as that is what our group wanted to do. But this combination was not offered which is why we rented a car. And the taxi driver kept warning us about safety and how hard it was to find parking. We never felt unsafe in any of the places we visited, nor did we have any issue finding parking. I don't like dishonest people.

Too much driving in the bus. The guide was not good, she didn't listen to the group about what we wanted.

Again, no walking in ports allowed. Celebrity shuttle buses dropped us at a mall called Seamall. Most people went with the ship’s expensive excursions. Independent passengers like us must fend for ourselves. Israel uses shekels for money. No train in Ashdod. You must buy bus tickets to go to Tel Aviv or Jerusalem at the the bus station behind the mall. The bus personnel speak little English and don’t take USD, Euro or credit cards. You must find a Change place to exchange money. Tel Aviv taxi drivers don’t speak or read English even though local signs are written in there language. Normal people are friendly but tourist related personnel are unfriendly and unhelpful. Jerusalem was very crowded. There is no direction to show how to go to the old town from the bus station. Bus station in both TelAviv and Jerusalem are dark, dirty and no sign whatsoever to tell where to find a bus for your destination.

Did our own tour with friends. Toured the old city of Jerusalem, visited an Arab owned fabric shop, ate in local cafe inside the city. Drank pomegrante juice from a street vendor, bought huge bagels from street vendor, delicious.
