We didn’t do an organized excursion at this port. We just walked around downtown and had a nice lunch near the water.

This is a port with lots of options within walking distance, and is picture perfect like you would imagine Hawaii

Public facilities not the nicest. Nice lunch at Fish Hopper. Glad we had reservations.

We rented a Dune buggy here along with some snorkel gear. Just drove the coast and snorkeled in a couple of places. A place called 2 step was one area. Locals would point out good area to snorkel. Loved it!

We rented a car and drove to the painted church, National Park, Coffee Plantation and through the mountains to the most Northern place then stopped at a State Park that was amazing.

Rent a car and go to the Southern Most Point, the Green sand beach and the black sand beach! They are all fantastic and it is easy to drive on the island.

Wish we had more time on this port. Cruise ship didn't have many ferries to take passengers ashore. Therefore, long wait time to get off the ship and back on. Kona had a open market on Sundays and made the day enjoyable.

The tendering was easy and organized.

Did hop on hop off which wasn't great b/c they only had two vans and if it was full you couldn't get on. We walked part of the way back. We did enjoy the markets
