We went in recreation.gov and booked our tickets for $1 each for Pearl Harbor. This is a must see when in Honolulu. We stayed one night in Waikiki Beach the night before the cruise. We watched the fireworks on Friday night from the hotel balcony. It was a great way to start our vacation.

This island is very over populated and commercialized. We have family that lives on Oahu so we have visited a few times and always stay with them. We really like the North Shore area, especially Haleiwa. If you like Hawaiian shave ice, the best on the island is Matsumoto’s in Haleiwa. There is always a line but worth the wait. Our favorite beach to relax and swim is Lanikai Beach on the windward coast in Kailua. The Hawaii Kai area has several good options for dining and shopping and even has a couple of decent beach parks. We have enjoyed several meals at the Kona Brewing Co. restaurant located in the Koko Marina in Hawaii Kai and always had great food and service. If you are physically able we recommend going to Diamond Head and making the hike to the summit for amazing views. We went a couple years ago in the morning and after we finished the hike we enjoyed the refreshing frozen pineapple treat from the food truck in the parking lot. As of May 2022 they now require you to get advanced reservations. On a previous visit, we went to Hanauma Bay for snorkeling and thought it was over crowded and over priced. The Waikiki area has a lot of shopping and dining options. We enjoyed walking around Waikiki at night and watching the variety of street entertainers.

Took a few days in Honolulu including taking a city tour and a separate Pearl Harbor tour. Both were worth it.

Liked the excursion to the volcano. Very informative driver. Do not like being taken to Kona Macadamia to stand around and BUY stuff ...and the same thing with the vineyard to BUY wine

We had two days at this location. Tour of North Shore ….which include a stop for Shrimp Lunch which was outstanding. On day two we booked a Pearl Harbour Star and Stripes which was great however the portion was to include a visit to the Arizona Memorial. However due to maintenance work on dock and a barge blocking the loading area that portion of the trip was cancelled. No refund from HAL, not even a drink a voucher. They knew about the issue and took my money not cool.

For those who had I been there in the past, it’s fine. Waikiki beach is like Miami Beach. See the spears Harbor memorial. It was ok

Stayed an additional 2 days. Didn’t do a sponsored excursion because they all seem to end with airport drop off. Dropped luggage off at hotel and took an Uber to north shore area to Waimea bay beach then hiked to the Waimea valley waterfalls across the street. Then Ubered to Haleiwa Joe’s restaurant which was highly recommended and delicious. The 2nd day we did Pearl Harbor- which could easily take all day, then did the Nutridge experience luau Wish we had one more day but we were glad for the time we spent
