We were here for two days, and NYE on the ship watching fireworks all evening was spectacular. If you are a walker, its a lovely scenic walk to Waikiki.

We did take the grand tour on our return trip and this was excellent. Our flight did not leave until 8pm so this was a great way to spend the day without worrying about luggage or traffic knowing we would get to the airport at the appropriate time.

The first day here, we went to Waikiki Beach and walked all around downtown. There’s lots of things to see and a few museums that were open to the public for free. The best thing about Hawaii is the temperature! No humidity and it’s a very comfortable temperature walking around. At night on our first day, we did a sunset, cruise aboard Honolulu star and it was fabulous. The second day we hike Diamondhead at eight in the morning and then in the afternoon. Rented a car and toured partly around the island. Can’t wait to do this island again.

Did our own thing. Took local bus to Japanese Shrine and to Punch bowl. Been to Honolulu before.

Went to Pearl Harbor. This can’t be missed. It is such an important part of American History and the memorial is amazing. We also did a walkthrough of the submarine (USS MISSOURI) that is at the same location.

I love Honolulu. Anyone who tells you to avoid Oahu on your trip to Hawaii is giving you terrible advice. Each Island is different. They are all beautiful and distinct from each other with their own identity. Oahu’s distinction is this - no where else in the Aloha State are you going to find wide open beaches & crowded beaches, historic & contemporary attractions, rural stretches of road to explore, hiking, surfing competitions, iconic Hawaiian attractions you’ll recognize from television & movies - and a 24/7 American metropolis offering all the conveniences of mainland urban centers - and all on one island. Oahu has it all!

Honolulu was a good trip but expensive. Explored the north shore and ate at Famous Kahuku Shrimp (good but wish the peeled the shrimp). Waikiki Beach is busy, expected considering it’s a big tourist spot. Overall, my time here was good but I wasn’t wowed. Stayed at the Alohilani Resort post cruise for 3 nights. Was a bit underwhelmed with the resort. Price was overpriced if you asked me.
