We spend 2 days in Honolulu. Caught up on emails, went to post office, enjoyed Ala Moana beach, shopped.

Honolulu has become very touristy. If you have not been before, it probably would be fine, but we have been several times, so it feels more like another big city.

So gorgeous! I highly recommend an 2-day visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center. (You only pay for one day though, which is great!) It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been - waterfalls, flowers, fresh growing fruit, amazing landscaping, and entertaining/educational experiences that will have you laughing out loud! Don't skip the luau or the "Ha: Breath of Life" show - it's sensational and the fire-dancing is UH-MAZING! The drive to/from the PCC is breathtaking too - think of the gorgeous Jurassic Park landscapes. I recommend renting a car so you can drive there yourself, because the views are too brief as you zip by in a bus. (I wish I had driven myself). You'll want to drink them in, and possibly get out to take pictures. Sigh...I want to go back!

Beach day : excursion to local beach was rather an odd pond . Did walk over to real beach . Paradise Cove Luau not exactly as stated . Said we would learn to make lai . Just given one . I was looking forward to learn how they were made . several events went on without a “map” to show you here to go . Food just ordinary. Was expecting something more traditional. The stage production was excellent !

Disembarked in Honolulu took Lyft to the hotel. The shared ride pickup area is across the street from the terminal. The cabs pickup on the same street in front of the terminal. The baggage was arranged in order of the color code issued by ship luggage tags. There were porters available to assist passengers with their luggage.

Went to Pearl Habor and enjoyed it and learned a lot about the history of the event. We did a Luau through Princess. The food and show was good but the seating was very uncomfortable.

We stayed in Waikiki for a couple of days before the cruise. I would have liked more time to explore

We did not book any excursions. We hiked Diamond Head and visited a friend.
