There is a Fort, that is run by English Heritage about 10-15 mins walk along the river from the cruise terminal. Checking opening times, especially during the winter There is a bus from Tilbury Riverside, operated by Ensign bus. It only operates Monday to Saturday, till about 7pm. It use to be a £1 for the journey from Tilbury Riverside to Tilbury Town Station. But again check www.ensignbus.com. This bus will also take you to ASDA supermarket, if you fancy buying some food or even cheap clothes.

A 40 minute walk to the train station (an hour on the train to get to London ) ... the cruise line didn’t tell us there was a free bus to and back from the train

TRAFFIC. That’s all I have to say. Our excursion was the bus into London and we spent the whole time stuck in traffic. Drive into London. Got there. Got back on the bus because of traffic we had no time. Bit excursion or ships fault but construction was bad and sadly ruined our experience.

I took the excursion London On Your Own. It was great. They got us quickly into the city so we had a full day to run around. Pick up point was easy to get to. Bus was super comfy.
