We did not book a tour here, because the ship is docked right by the town, and you can easily walk around and browse at shops, restaurants, etc.

Walkable city. Went out on my own. Once again the excursion I wanted was sold out prior to sailing.

Shore excursion, in spite of rain, was well done and very informative.

Best part of the trip!

No. The ship was docked right in the center of Ponta Del Gada. Walking to the gardens, fort and famous churches was so interesting. The fort really was a surprise and full of history. The multiple church architectures were beautiful.

A cute city but not much to see. We wanted to take a tour but the ship was late arriving and there was only 2 hours of daylight left for a 3-1/2 hour tour. The day was foggy also.

We stopped on a Sunday and most shops closed. Wished we would have done an excursion as the reviews from others and what we could see would say we missed a great stop.
