Naples was ok. Pompeii was amazing. Highered a driver on our own to tour Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. Cost less than the ship excursion. Taxi drivers lines up outside of port ready to negotiate. Pay for a guide at Pompeii.

We did not want to stay in the city as there is so much else to see outside Naples. We hired a driver for the day who took us past Mt. Vesuvius, to a switch back drive overlooking the city and on to the Amalfi Coast. It was well worth the money.

We took a 10 hour excursion. Capri, Sarrento and Pompeii. Too much transportation for this excursion. half the day we were either waiting for transportation or on it. This excursion needs to be split up.

Naples is a nice town that leaves you not feeling so safe when you are walking around, but we negotiated a off ship tour once in the port out to Sorrento and it was a very nice, and safe ride to that city. There we shopped and took in the views. The drive out there was about an hour, and well worth it. We spent $60 Euro's each (3 of us) to spend the entire day with 1 driver, and he took us everywhere we wanted to go, including the city buried by the volcano and later dug up.

We went to Sorrento and Pompeii. Very enjoyable the limoncello was yummy. Pompeii was awesome.
