Nice city with wonderful vineries.

Beautiful city. We took a tour of some wineries that was nice. Going up and down the gangway during high tide was very sporty.

Most enjoyable stop on the cruise. Beautiful charming city with lots to keep you busy!

The ship was docked right in the centre of Bordeaux although we took a tram to go further inside the city and walk back. Bordeaux has amazing architecture and cobbled streets. It’s clean and easy to get around. As Bordeaux was an overnight port we took a tour to the quaint village of St Emilion on day two with a wine and tasting tour to Chateau Fleur De Lisse.

The ship docked about 2 hours from Bordeaux, so excursions were long. Bordeaux is a pretty city, and we had an excellent lunch at an outside cafe. The second day, we went to two wineries about an hour away from the ship.

We were docked at le Verdun sur la Mer, which is an industrial port and has absolutely no tourist services. We were supposed to dock at Pailluc but this was changed late (and may have been due to the city hosting a Marathon race during the week of our visit). The ship excursions were really the only options for touring and they were of mediocre quality and unacceptable expensive for the experience that we received.

Wish we were there longer.
