Go to Versailles. You can take train into Paris and be on your own until VK bus picks you up around 5:15 at the Churchill statue at the Petit Pallais.

We wished we had not missed the first day in Paris and excursion. We plan to return to Paris to enjoy the city and all that it had to offer.

The hotel was excellent and the metro was easy and efficient. We did meet a couple that had been taken by a pickpocket in a church. We did not choose the planned excursion and headed out on our own. Be polite and they all try to speak to you in English. You need to book the Eiffel Tower a month in advance.

Busy. Taking the metro was an experience. Be careful of the pick pockets.

Lots of things to see, lots of places to walk. Excursion gave us a good overview. Nothing like having your boat docked very close to the Eiffel Tower to view its nightly light show.

Most everything met expectations except that Eiffel Tower was CLOSED due to Strike. AND Paris by Night River Cruise was a Disorganized Chaos - Over-Crowded - Safety Hazard

Saw highlights of Paris; however, due to the impending Olympics traffic and crowds were heavy, but nothing Viking could control.

Paris is awe inspiring!

We did the Walking tour and although we did not enter the Louvre, we did learn a lot about the building itself. Then on to Ile de la Cite to see the progress on Notre Dame and finally ending in the Latin Quarter.
