Long train ride to get into Glasgow. Again, eating up a good chunk of the day with transportation. We were going to do the Hop On Hop Off bus, but there was a long line for that too. We passed on it, and just walked around.

You dock in Greenock.....A city that has, perhaps, seen better days. Having said that, the people were quite friendly and we enjoyed walking the city. You have to take the bus to Glasgow....We did not.

It has been a lot of years since i last visited this port and found there were local information staff giving out maps and information. Directly outside the terminal we found a Hop on Hop off bus which we didn't know about but enjoyed the 90 trip before going into town for a coffee. Not a lot of nice shops but a large supermarket and saw whilst on the bus some out of town shopping which you would need transport to get to.

Town is very rundown. We went on a hop on hop off bus which was interesting and learnt a lot about the import of sugar from the West Indies by Tate and Lyle.

We had booked a trip to Edinburgh, but we were too tired, so canceled. Good thing as it rained most of the day. We did get off the ship long enough to say I stepped foot in the country where my maternal grandmother was born.

This was our favorite stop. We did an Edinburgh tour including the castle.
