Old city (about a mile away from the port) has an incredible collection of small shops and restaurants hidden away in narrow winding streets by the cathedral. Beware of siesta though, some places may be closed until late afternoon.

Loved our excursion here. Boat trip with Alejandra-Charter.com. They took us along the coast to see some natural caves (from the water), some wild goats, and a secluded beach where we stopped to swim. Beautiful water.

I did the provincial idyll At the Island excursion. It was poorly named but great excursion. We saw Petra and the home and museum of Juniperro Serra who founded many California missions. After a fabulous meal that was included we went to a large estate to see the antiques and how people lived. It was a small excursion mostly due to its name but I highly recommend it. Some climbing of stairs and walking was involved but less that other tours.
